About My Work:

My work is experiential and is made up of three components: music, meditation and paintings, creating a pool of auditory and visual influences. I use art and music as a means to examine the transparency, synesthesia, and liminality between sight and sound, mind and body, in addition to consciousness and perception. Using meditation as a vehicle the content of my work is driven by the sacred and universal interpretation of music. Guided by spiritual and esoteric themes I explore relationships of art and music and how they activate metaphysical aspects of our being.

About Me:

My name is John Plehinger, aka Droplitz. I have always been interested in art and music. I started making art as soon as I could hold a pencil and I began drumming as a young child. In 4th grade I began selling my drawings at the post office and grocery store to make money for my own art and music supplies. When reading music, I would look away from the sheet music and begin to see the notes flying through the air towards me. My artwork reflected this seemingly natural ability to visualize audio. Ideas sprang from my mind like sound from a drum; I couldn’t seem to draw them fast enough. Most of my art in high school was trying to draw my interpretation of music, of sound in general. Over the years my art and music became one in the same. The process of creating became fluid.... droplets (Droplitz) from the same pool of inspiration.  In 2010 I started painting and making electronic music when I began college. In 2014 I graduated college at Metropolitan State University and achieved a Bachelors in Fine Art, focus in painting, drawing, and digital design. A year out of college and I was hit by a car while driving my motorcycle home from a dead end job. It was a wake up call, so in early 2015 I started following my passions…… for real! I became a full time muralist as well as traveling electronic musician. Since 2018 I have worked with Street Ritual, Sub.Mission, and Soundz Organic, and Prysm Talent Agency for music bookings.

About DROPLITZ right now:

My murals have only gotten bigger and more serious with time, it is fall 2023 and Im a bout to paint my 55th mural at the the massive size of 5000 square feet downtown Denver, Colorado. With the recently going independent I am on the lookout for really great representation, that has goals, and truly loves my multifaceted project. With the break covid times provided my catalog grew to 13 albums, 7 eps, and countless singles and remixes. With this large of a discography of originals I plan on touring around the US/Canada more frequently.

About DROPLITZ goals:

It has been my dream to tour with mural and music work. It is a goal of mine in 2025 to procure my 3rd dual booking for mural and music at another big music festival. So far I have done this at Infrasound 2022 and Serenity Gathering 2018. I also aspire to use my project for good. Water charities and Ocean clean up spark my interest when it comes to using my project for philanthropy. My next agent will employ both sides of my project and have a lot to work with.
